“I was introduced to singing at a very young age by my mother. I grew up in a household where everyone sang and appreciated music. I remember my great grandmother telling me that I should always make time for music as music would give me great joy, and comfort during the best of times and the worst of times. Some 20 odd years after my great grandmother’s advice, I’ve had the fortune of learning and experiencing many types of music ranging from Hindustani and Carnatic music to choral works, opera, madrigals, jazz, a capella, classical piano and even an Indonesian Gamelan. These musical experiences have kept me grounded and given me an amazing sense of community while living in seven different cities over the past 15 years.”
